as part of lo que se fue y lo que se dejó, this gallery contains images of soñe contigo, a zine compiled of notes, quotes, poems, and reflections written by the artist about death and dying. soñe contigo is considered an artist statement and helps supply greater clarity on the themes throughout each facet of the project. the zine was printed on a xerox printer in black and white to allow for easy duplication.

the title of this project, lo que se fue y lo que se dejó, came from this account of the artist's grandmother whispering in her ear during a dream. Ortiz-Diaz used the phrase to stand for the many things that are left behind when someone leaves us.
